OUTSTANDING GRADUATING SENIOR AWARD: From the Department of Interior Design & Fashion
Radford University May 2013
Each department in Radford University's Visual and Performing Arts College nominates graduating seniors for this award. The applicants are then reviewed by an awards committee made up of professors in the department and based on the following criteria: grade point average, two letters of recommendation, and a personal statement. Students must have made a positive contribution to the Department of Interior Design and Fashion both academically and in three major areas: activities, awards and involvement.

The ASID Student Chapter Awards are given to outstanding student members and chapters responsible for promoting the ASID student member experience as an enriching learning tool for future interior designers.

Radford University's Interior Design & Fashion Department holds a Senior Show every year to showcase the graduating seniors work while in the program, it is judged each year by Radford University's Advisory Board of Professionals in Interior Design, Fashion and Merchandising fields.

The Western Virginia ADDY Awards is sponsored by the American Advertising Federation and is the first step in a three-tier national competition. Awards are made to professionals as well as to students in a range of fields, including sales promotion, collateral material, direct marketing, trade publications, newspapers, television and interactive media.

Sherwin Williams May 2012
Sherwin-Williams holds it's STIR® Student Design Contest annually to recognize excellence in student-generated residential and commercial design. Students may submit entries to the commercial or residential design category and must use a minimum of three Sherwin-Williams colors.
DR. SUSAN BARNARD SCHOLARSHIP: Recipient

Each year in Radford University's Interior Design program the Dr. Susan Barnard Scholarship is awarded to the student with the highest score in portfolio review, which consists of a hand drafting packet, your work from an 8 hour design charrette, your Sophomore Studio II project (which consists of the design of an 2,000 sq. ft. commercial facility, and a model of it) and a project of your choice.

This merit-based scholarship is awarded each year to Interior Design & Fashion students who excel in academics, participate in departmental and professional activities, and demonstrate outstanding potential for contribution to the field. Funds for this scholarship are provided by the Radford University Foundation, through the generous support of its Arts Society patrons.
